The project developed at the San Juan de Ávila Church in Jerez de la Frontera in 2023 focuses on improving acoustic comfort in a religious space, where sound quality is an essential element for the development of the liturgy, the intelligibility of the word, and the spiritual experience of the attendees. In these types of buildings, traditionally featuring large volumes and highly reflective surfaces, controlling reverberation is a technical challenge of great importance.

In this intervention, Ideatec Advanced Acoustic Solutions implemented the Idealux FL system, an acoustic solution designed to enhance sound absorption in interior spaces without compromising the architectural aesthetics of the venue. Its application effectively reduces excessive reverberation, favoring greater clarity in the transmission of speech and music.

The main challenge of the project was to intervene in a space with a strong architectural identity and symbolic value, respecting its original design and visual atmosphere. Churches present complex acoustic conditions due to their height, construction materials, and geometry, which can generate echoes and a loss of intelligibility during celebrations and liturgical acts.

The Idealux FL solution was integrated discreetly within the space, providing a significant acoustic improvement without altering the aesthetic perception of the temple. Its design allows for a harmonious incorporation into ceilings and interior surfaces, helping to balance reverberation and improve the overall sound experience.

The project, located in Jerez de la Frontera, was designed by the architect Belén de la Cuadra and executed by the installer Frival de Jerez, ensuring a correct implementation of the acoustic solution in an environment of high architectural and functional sensitivity.

The intervention at the San Juan de Ávila Church demonstrates how applied acoustics can significantly enhance the experience in religious spaces, facilitating clearer communication and a more balanced sound environment. The reduction of reverberation contributes to a better understanding of messages and a better experience of liturgical acts.

This project reinforces Ideatec's experience in the acoustic treatment of cultural and religious spaces, where technical precision must coexist with absolute respect for the heritage value and architectural identity of the building.
