Ripoll Funeral Home

The project developed at the Tanatorio Ripoll in 2021 represents an acoustic intervention designed to improve environmental comfort and sound quality in a space that is particularly sensitive from both an emotional and functional perspective. In funeral buildings and farewell spaces, acoustics play a fundamental role in creating quiet, intimate, and respectful atmospheres, where silence and sound clarity contribute to the well-being of the users.

In this intervention, Ideatec Advanced Acoustic Solutions implemented the Idealux FL system, integrated into the building's interior ceilings as the primary acoustic solution. This system is designed to optimize sound absorption and reduce reverberation in interior spaces, providing a more balanced and comfortable environment without altering the project's architectural aesthetics.

The main challenge of the intervention was to control reverberation in large rooms and common areas where hard surfaces and significant volumes can generate a cold or excessively resonant acoustic perception. In funeral spaces, sound quality directly influences the emotional atmosphere; therefore, it was essential to create quieter and more welcoming environments.

The architectural project was developed by ETC Estudi Tècnic de Construcció, proposing a sober, luminous, and functional architecture where materials and spatial distribution favor a more human and comfortable experience. In this context, the acoustic solution had to be integrated discreetly and elegantly within the architectural ensemble.

The installation was carried out by MG Integral and Fusdecor, ensuring a precise execution aligned with the technical and aesthetic demands of the project. The funeral home, located in Ripoll, thus incorporates an acoustic solution capable of significantly improving the user experience and the environmental quality of its interior spaces.

The application of Idealux FL allows for the reduction of reflected noise and improves speech intelligibility during ceremonies and gatherings, favoring a calmer and more respectful atmosphere. In addition to its technical features, the system provides visual continuity and a clean, contemporary architectural integration.

This project reinforces Ideatec's experience in developing acoustic solutions for public and institutional spaces, where environmental comfort has a direct impact on the emotional experience of users. The intervention at Tanatorio Ripoll demonstrates how applied acoustics can contribute to creating more human, silent, and welcoming environments through discreet and high-performance technical solutions.
