Angle Restaurant / Cram Hotel
The project developed at the Angle Restaurant in the Hotel Cram in Barcelona in 2020 represents a highly demanding acoustic intervention in a gastronomic environment where design, comfort, and sensory experience must coexist in perfect balance. In haute cuisine restaurants, acoustics play an essential role in the global perception of the space, directly influencing the comfort of the clients and the quality of the gastronomic experience.
In this intervention, Ideatec Advanced Acoustic Solutions implemented the High 16 system, an acoustic solution designed to optimize sound absorption and reduce reverberation in sophisticated interior spaces with high aesthetic demands. The main objective of the project was to create an acoustically balanced environment that favored conversation and the comfort of the diners without altering the architectural identity of the restaurant.
The architectural project was developed by GCA Architects, opting for a contemporary, elegant, and carefully detailed design. In this type of gastronomic spaces, characterized by noble surfaces, open ceilings, and reflective materials, acoustic control is fundamental to avoid excessive levels of ambient noise that could affect the user experience.
The application of the High 16 system allowed for the efficient reduction of reverberation generated by the constant activity of the restaurant, improving speech intelligibility and providing a more relaxed and comfortable atmosphere. The acoustic solution was discreetly integrated into the interior design, maintaining the aesthetic coherence of the project and respecting the sophistication of the space.
The installation was carried out by Dimaplac and Fustería Fusdecor, guaranteeing a precise execution aligned with the project's high quality standards. The restaurant, located in Barcelona, is part of the renowned Hotel Cram, a benchmark for design and hospitality in the city.
The incorporation of acoustic solutions in high-end restaurants allows for a significant improvement in the perception of the space and the well-being of the users. In this case, the High 16 system contributes to creating a more intimate, elegant, and functional environment, where acoustics naturally accompany the culinary experience.
This project reinforces Ideatec's experience in the high-level hospitality and catering sector, demonstrating how applied acoustics can be invisibly integrated into demanding architectural projects, providing added value at both a technical and sensory level.
